Quality and standards

Quality assurance and assessment policy

The standards Ventiva Care Institute holds itself to when designing, assessing and maintaining its courses.

Curriculum design

Every course begins with a defined set of learning outcomes mapped to the role it serves and to current UK legislation and sector guidance, including the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, the Health and Social Care Act 2008 regulations, the CQC single assessment framework, the Care Certificate standards and, where relevant, the Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards. Modules are then built so that each outcome is taught, practised and checked, with no gaps and no duplication.

Authoring and subject review

Course material is drafted against a controlled authoring specification that fixes structure, reading level, British English usage, legislative anchors and the requirement for a practice point in every lesson. Every course is then reviewed by a subject reviewer from a health and social care practice background before it is published. Publication is a deliberate act: nothing reaches learners without passing review.

Assessment method

Learning is assessed through module knowledge checks of four multiple-choice questions each, an interactive decision scenario at the start of every module, and an end-of-course evaluation. Questions test applied judgement rather than recall. Answers are graded on the server so that correct answers and explanations are never exposed to the learner's device before submission. Learners see the explanation for each question after grading, so the assessment also teaches.

Pass criteria and certification

A certificate of completion is issued only when every lesson has been opened and completed, every module knowledge check has been passed, and the end-of-course evaluation has been submitted. Each certificate carries a unique verification code, the learner's name, the course title, the declared CPD hours and the completion date, and can be checked publicly at any time on our certificate verification page.

How CPD hours are declared

Declared CPD hours are the guided learning hours for the course: the sum of the timed lesson durations, knowledge checks and the end-of-course evaluation, rounded to the nearest half hour. Hours are not inflated by optional reading. Where a learner spends longer than the declared hours, the declared figure still stands on the certificate.

Learner support

Learners may contact the institute at hello@ventivalimited.co.uk at any point during a course with a question about content, assessment or access. Enquiries are acknowledged within 2 working days. Where a learner repeatedly does not pass a knowledge check, the platform returns them to the relevant lesson before allowing a further attempt, so that reattempts follow learning rather than guessing.

Currency and review cycle

Every course is reviewed at least annually, and immediately whenever legislation, statutory guidance or a regulator's framework changes in a way that affects its content. Reviews are recorded against the course record. Where a change is material, learners who hold a certificate for the affected course are notified so they can refresh their knowledge.

Learner feedback and continuous improvement

The end-of-course evaluation asks every learner to rate relevance, clarity and confidence gained, and to comment freely. Feedback is reviewed by the curriculum team on a rolling basis; themes that recur across a course trigger a content revision. Aggregate feedback is reported alongside completion data in our internal quality review.

Records, data protection and equality

Learning records and certificates are retained so that certificates remain verifiable and learners can evidence past training, and are processed under UK GDPR as set out in our privacy policy. Course material is written in plain English, is navigable by keyboard and screen reader, and is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA as described in our accessibility statement. We make reasonable adjustments on request.

Accreditation honesty

Ventiva Care Institute does not award regulated qualifications in its own right. Certificate courses issue a certificate of completion with declared CPD hours. Where a programme leads to a regulated qualification, learners are registered with an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation and this is stated on the course page before enrolment. Recognitions still under application are published as applications, never as endorsements.
