Accessibility statement

Health and social care is delivered by a workforce with a wide range of access needs. Our training must be usable by all of it.

Platform standards

We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA as our working target: keyboard-operable navigation, visible focus states, text contrast tested against the navy and gold palette, and semantic headings so screen readers can move through a lesson in order.

Course materials

Lesson content is written in plain professional English, structured with short sections and knowledge checks. Text can be resized to 200% without loss of content, and pages reflow on small screens for learners studying on a phone between shifts.

Assessment adjustments

Reasonable adjustments are available for knowledge checks and practical assessment — extra time, a reader or scribe, printed materials, or a paper-based alternative where the assessment method allows it.

In-person training

Venues are selected for step-free access and accessible facilities wherever practicable. Tell us your requirements when you request places and we will confirm what a venue can support before the session is booked.

Known limitations

We publish limitations honestly rather than claiming full conformance. At present:

  • Not all course material has captioned or audio-described media; where media is used, an equivalent written transcript is provided.
  • Certificates are designed for print and are best read as a downloaded PDF with a screen reader rather than in-page.
  • Compliance exports for care operators are provided as CSV; an accessible on-screen alternative is available in the workforce console.

Requesting an adjustment

Contact us describing the barrier you have met and the support you need. We aim to respond within one working day and to agree adjustments before your course begins. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may raise it through our complaints procedure.
